About the matter that is going on recently, I want to explain it here so you guys don't get confused.

Firstly, I want to thanks Mez for handle the matter properly, for emailing me and give me a change to explain the situation without jump to conclusion at the beginning.

Okay, into the matter, at first, I want to ask just a simple question: when you look at a file's description such as "[Animanda] Death Note 20" or "Death Note 21 [Kuro-hana]", do you have any idea who uploaded them? Even with a file's description like "Death Note 16 ANFS...enjoy, Mezmy" which you can find out the uploader is Mezmy, but do you know where to contact this Mezmy for permission? I myself don't know how to and for those of you who jumped to conclusion and said that I took your links and NEVER give proper credit or asked you. Please let me know how can I ask you if I don't see your name in the file's description, and how can I contact you if I don't see your address in the file's description as well. About crediting, there are a lot members on this site who helped me out by uploading the animes and movies, and you can see I do give them proper credits just because they e-mailed me the links and told me their name to put in the credits.

Now go to how I get the links in the first place. For those of you who has been visiting the site since its birth, you knew that I uploaded all files until the last 2 months, when my internet got broken down badly and it takes me 4 hours to upload a mere 50MB. That was when I asked for help and set up the Filebox. At the same time, I went look for links around the internet to share with you guys. For links that I can see the uploader's name and contact, I asked for permission and credited them. For those I can't find out, I did state that "if you are the uploader or know how to contact the uploader, let me know so I can give proper credit". Please understand that I went through hundreds of sites a day because my major is in computing, I always need to go online to find resources, so sometimes in the middle of my studying, I found some interesting links and thus I shared with you on the site. Now you asked me exactly where I got each link, I'm sorry that I can't and don't have time to search for that, and sometimes it's impossible to find it again cause some links I got from Google's cache, which will be deleted after 3-4 days.

I made this site in the first place just to share with people who have the same interests with me. I know some of you don't know how to search around the internet and I understand the feeling of wanting to get just 1 episode to complete the series but couldn't, or the feeling of watching one episode of an anime, got addicted to it but can't find the rest to watch even after countless hours searching, or the feeling of hearing about a great movie but have no time, money, or chance to watch it at all. They are the reasons I made this site. I asked for no registration, no sign up, no subscription, no donation, you don't even need to say thank you to see the links. This site is purely made to share. So if you think I have any benefits from taking your links, let me know what benefits would I get.

Last thing, I do give credit and encourage that action, and I apologize for not being able to contact the uploader in the first place. But it's not like I claimed they are my links, please look around before give out judgments. And next time, please include your email address or where you uploaded the links to, so whoever find your links know how to contact you.

You gave me credits even though I didn't ask for it. I just want to say thanks for setting up this site for us and thanks for all the sharing (love prison break *o* )

First off, I would like to thank you for your consideration and prompt action to our (C~chan and myself) requests.

Second, I would like to respond to your comment regarding this whole incident. You, as an uploader, should know the time and effort it takes to upload each episode. Therefore, the uploader deserves the credit since he/she provide the service. For you to take links from elsewhere and not crediting those uploaders, you are claiming those links are yours by default.

But you stated "if you are the uploader or know how to contact the uploader, let me know so I can give proper credit"?

So what?

You DID take the links from SOMEwhere, no? From SOMEone, no? You didn't credit the people who had posted those links and/or the place that you have taken the links from. Why not? You said "I do give credit" so if you couldn't find out who the uploader is, why didn't you credit the PLACE you took it from?

Also, it looks like you know I tag my links with "Enjoy, <3 Mezmy." You could have easily yahoo/googled my name and it will lead you to my LJ (<- my page comes up in the first two links). Even if you didn't realize that Mezmy is myself, you could at least have credited those links on your website to "Mezmy"...but you didn't.

Lastly, thank you for you kind suggestion of putting our contact info in the description. It was remiss of us to assume there is such thing as netiquette online. Here's my suggestion to you: Now that you have help in uploading, please cease taking links from unknown uploaders and/or uploaders that are not contactable. Taking their links without them knowing is "stealing"...regardless of whatever disclaimer you put on your website. You didn't upload them therefore you have no claim over them and hence you don't have the right to use them.

That's amusing. You act like you're the victim here, not that I really think that there is a victim here. It's not like you stole my bandwidth or anything, right? Nope ... Just a few hours of my time that I spent downloading the anime then uploading the anime, and the really ridiculous thing is that the only places where my links showed up were either on my forum or on the aarinfantasy forum ... let's assume that you "borrowed them" from the aarin forum since Mezmy is also a frequent poster there.

I was never rude to you. I was not unkind. The way you made your post made it sound as though the absolute wrath of God was brought down on your head, and even in the end, I said that you could use the links provided that you credited me as having uploaded them and providing that you ask forthwith before posting someone's links.

I've done netsearches, and I gotta tell you: in the length of time it takes to search for download links ALL on MegaUpload, you could have easily downloaded the episode and uploaded it yourself. You could have used the FTP feature to transfer the file to another server in about five minutes or less.

The bottom line is that we upload anime to share it, and to that end, it isn't a big deal. It's just completely irresponsible and rude to steal someone's time, which is what the issue was, in the first place.

Good luck with your site. It's very nice, and I'm glad that you're doing well with it.

All the best,
Cireus

1. Google = YOUR FRIEND. Search engines in general also.
2. You got links from somewhere. Credit poster.
3. Sharing is caring = Yes.
Taking someone else's links along with their time and bandwidth that they used to upload the files = NO.
4. You = NOT THE VICTIM.
5. High-Speed Unlimited Internet with 60GB bandwidth per month from Rgoers = $60-$70

Time it takes to upload an episode of something = 1-2 hours.

'LOL'ing from this post = PRICELESS.

For everything else DRAMA on the internet there is stupid.

Okay, Mez, I did tell you in the email I sent you, the website where I got those links are probably stated that they found them from the internet or else I would credit them properly.

And Cireus, I assumed that by "You could have used the FTP feature to transfer the file to another server in about five minutes or less." you meant using the feature of the premium account. I'm sorry I don't have money to get a premium account to do so. And I already said, in the last 2 months my internet broke down badly and it takes me 4 hours to upload a 50MB file, and that didn't include time where it stopped after 3 hours uploading.

And Annie, I'm not living in the States, and I don't have $60/month to pay for an internet access that fast either, the one I'm using now cost me $10/month, and that's all I can afford.
